Growing up on a Wisconsin dairy farm taught Rick Schmidt how to make deals, handle breakdowns and avoid the bull. Those lessons serve him well in his law practice. He has a broad business practice that includes negotiating real estate sales and leasing transactions and advising business persons. This diverse practice includes advising real estate developers, convenience store operators and software companies.

Rick loves his family, which includes his wife Ann, three towheaded children (Russell, Abby and Kevin) and a black Lab named Reggie. Rick's family doesn't love—but puts up with—his running, biking, swimming and skiing, all of which he does slowly but surely. He also enjoys coaching youth sports and serving on the capital funding board of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
